Arrival in Lisbon, March 28, 2023

Got up at 07:30 as we wanted to be on our way to Lisbon by 09:00.  It is a 3 hour drive and we needed to have our rental car back at Lisbon airport by 13:00.  It was an easy drive and managed to drop the car off at the Hertz car rental return in plenty of time, took a taxi from the airport to our apartment and met our landlord who gave us an inspection of the place and a few restaurant suggestions.  The apartment looks just at it was advertised, clean , very well stocked and lots of room, so we are very happy.  We unpacked, had a coffee and then decided to explore our neighborhood while the sun was still shining.  After walking around our neighborhood we came back, showered and headed for dinner to a place that was recommended by our landlord and we had spotted on our travels.

Ilegally parked in front of our building and put our luggage in our trusty Kia hatchback and got ready to depart for our 3 hour drive to Lisbon.
This is our apartment building and we are on the 5th floor with the wrap around "Juliette" balcony.  Our apartment is the one with the two front windows on the right.  Unfortunately, the building has no elevator so had to slog our luggage up the stairs.  Thankfully, our landlord took one of the bags.

This is our lovely, spacious and airy living room.  its a one bedroom but has lot's of storage space.  I know we will be very comfortable here.

This is our amazing view from our front windows with the Tejo River in the distance and the #28E trolley as it heads towards old town in the foreground.

After unpacking it was time for a coffee on our very narrow "Juliette" balcony.  Its a great place to catch the sun and people watch.  We are situated in the center of Lisbon in the Barrio Alto district.  We are within walking distance to most of Lisbon's many attractions and have 3 trolley lines stop in front of us in Luis de Combes Square.

Sea Me Next Door is a casual seafood tapas restaurant where you sit on high stools on communal long tables.  The food was very tasty.  We both had Octopus Hot Dogs (octopus, onions and tomato in a hot dog bun), grilled sardines on rice, garlic prawns with tomato toast (Rita asked and received the recipe for the garlic prawns).  And as usual, we helped it all down with a bottle of their local white wine.
